Collaboration, education, and community engagement are priorities to us at Focus. Our providers are passionate about sharing their expertise on all things mind, mood, body, and food. Whether it’s a support group for the community, or a workshop for professionals, we invite you to join us.

MIND BODY MEDICINE workshop FOR PROFESSIONALS


Deepen your connection with mind and body in this 8-week series for professionals. This experiential course is designed to learn and/or enhance mind body medicine practices to traverse the demands of work and life with resilience and vitality. Groups are private and confidential, providing a safe place to unwind and tap into your own inner wisdom.

This group is for beginners as well as advanced, and resources are provided for each weekly topic. The course is led by Siri K. Zemel, PhD. Each series is uniquely responsive to the individual members of the group, yet the foundational course outline includes the following core components:

  • WEEK ONE:

    Introductions

    Mind body medicine basics (self-care, breathwork, meditation, consciousness)

    WEEK TWO:

    Mental training (intention, perception, shifting states, grit)

    Mindfulness (mindfulness meditation and other mindfulness practices)

    WEEK THREE:

    Wisdom of the body (nervous system regulation and listening to the body)

    Rest, rejuvenation, and movement practices

    WEEK FOUR:

    Imagery (dreams, visions, creative expression, visualization)

    Sacred practices (spirituality, connection with deeper source beyond self)

    WEEK FIVE:

    Relating to self (honoring body, mind, and spirit)

    Nutrition and other consumption patterns (social media, thought patterns)

    WEEK SIX:

    Compassion and forgiveness (gentleness, acceptance, non-attachment)

    Self-care practices (inner dialogue, journaling, therapy)

    WEEK SEVEN:

    Social connections (relationships, friendships, partnerships)

    Relational practices (non-judgement, loving-kindness, forgiveness, compassion)

    WEEK EIGHT:

    Creating nurturing spaces (home, office, scheduling patterns)

    Person-centered values-based living (choice points, where to go from here)

Groups are held on Fridays from 11:30am – 1pm, with lunch catered by Holly’s Gourmet Market (Attendees will have the opportunity to select their lunch order each week.). If you are interested in this group, but cannot make the designated times, please reach out. We keep a list of interested people and aim to build group scheduling based on community needs. The cost to register for the 8-week series is $425.

Meal Support Groups are a safe place to work on healing relationships with food. Led by a registered dietitian, groups are educational, as well as conversational to provide connection and community.

Anyone who…

  • experiences mealtime stress or anxiety

  • is recovering from disordered eating

  • is looking for extra support or accountability

…is welcome to bring food and join us at the table!

In-person group is held Tuesdays from 12pm-1pm

Virtual group is held Thursdays from 11am-12pm
