Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, National Certified Counselor

Hannah graduated with her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2021, where she also graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an Honors Concentration in 2019. Her professional experience includes individual counseling, and group counseling with children, adolescents, and adults; couples counseling; domestic violence advocacy and counseling; suicide prevention training, advocacy, and counseling; play therapy; career and secondary education advocacy and counseling; eating disorder counseling; and LGBTQIA+ issues advocacy, counseling, and research. Hannah is a member of the American Counseling Association; an alumna of Chi Sigma Iota, international and professional honor society for counseling; and an alumna of Psi Chi, international honor society for psychology.

Hannah brings both enthusiasm and passion for mental health to Focus. She prescribes mainly to the Person-Centered/Rogerian model of counseling but also pulls elements from both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Feminist Theory. Hannah believes that the counselor-client relationship is of the utmost importance and strives to create strong, trusting bonds with her clients. She believes that clients should feel empowered to change their own lives by utilizing skills learned; engaging in talk therapy to gain insight into their problem, patterns, and behaviors; and analyzing power dynamics present in their personal lives and society.
